Expanding Access in Emerging Markets

Johnson & Johnson has launched a groundbreaking initiative to expand access to essential medicines and vaccines in underserved communities across Africa and Asia. Through strategic partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and healthcare providers, we're reaching millions of people who previously lacked access to life-saving treatments.

Our tiered pricing model ensures that medications are affordable in low-income countries while maintaining quality and safety standards. We've established 15 new distribution centers in remote regions, dramatically reducing the time it takes for medicines to reach patients. Mobile health clinics equipped with telemedicine capabilities are bringing specialist care to rural communities for the first time.

The vaccine access program has been particularly impactful, delivering over 50 million doses of essential vaccines to children in 25 countries. Our cold chain infrastructure investments ensure that temperature-sensitive vaccines remain effective throughout the distribution process, even in regions with limited electricity access.

Training and capacity building are integral to our approach. We've trained 10,000 local healthcare workers in proper medication administration, disease prevention, and community health education. This creates sustainable healthcare systems that will continue serving communities long after our initial intervention. By 2030, we aim to reach 500 million people in emerging markets with affordable, high-quality healthcare solutions.
